The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.—Juliette Gordon Low
The Summit Against Racism and Racial Justice Town Hall are run by a team of volunteers and we need your help! Our volunteers play a number of crucial roles before, during, and after the events. Won’t you support racial justice organizing in your community?
Our volunteers do all of this and more:
- Create welcome packets
- Sort recycling
- Take notes during presentations
- Prepare breakfast and lunch
- Staff registration tables
- Greet attendees
- Assist with tech needs
Please sign up to volunteer at the Summit or Racial Justice Town Hall, and the volunteer committee will contact you in the coming weeks.
I Want to Volunteer
We need a bunch of help leading up to the Summit. We will be doing food prep the entire week leading up to the Summit. This will take place in the kitchen at the East End Cooperative Ministries at 6140 Station St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Folks will be there Tuesday (1/9) thru Friday (1/12) from 1 PM till 6 PM each day. Any help you can be during this time would be greatly appreciated. We have ALOT of food to prep for the day of the Summit. The tasks will be varied but will consist of prepping and rolling burritos for the most part. If you can help you should be able to stand for extended periods of time for this activity.
Thank you for your commitment!
Help Organize the Summit
We begin to organize each summit in September of the prior year. If you would like to help in the planning, a good place to start is at the monthly planning meetings or at one of the sub-committee meetings. Those meeting days and times are in the calendar below.
